Is It Safe To Dermaplane At Home? Getting It Done Professionally vs DIY

There is no shame in a little peach fuzz. I just want to be real and tell you that dermaplaning will change the game for your skin.

No, your hair will not grow back thicker and darker. Yes, it will grow back.

Shaving your face sound scary, I know.

Why should you consider dermaplaning?

Dirt and bacteria can get trapped in hair.

It exfoliates your skin.

Your products will absorb better.

Your makeup will go on smoother.

Should you derma plane at home?

While you might save a buck, I don't recommend derma planing at home. I've tried it, and it never turns out as good as it does if I go and get it done. You can cut yourself, damage your skin barrier, or miss spots.

I've tried many different razors. If you're in a pinch or don't have time, this one is my favorite.

My recommendation:

If you have the time and resources, I recommend going and getting a dermaplane add-on to your next hydrafacial. An esthetician will properly cleanse and prep your skin, and will get all of the spots you might have missed.

Pleaaaase get professional advice before you try derma planing. It might not be the best option for you if you have acne prone skin or other skin conditions.

Since moving to Milwaukee, I've been going to Skn Bar RX in Shorewood. And of course, when I am back in Sacramento, I always go see the squad at Esthetics Center. Both have highly trained, talented estheticians who will treat you with the best medical grade skincare products.

What do you prefer, dermaplaning at home or getting it done by someone else?

xx Nat
